She who destroyed the worship of fire

Last year in Texas a whole neighborhood of homes was protected from destruction because a family put there confidence in the protection of the Mother of God.  The Fires came right up to the statue, burned every yard to cinders, but did not touch a single house.  For more information read here

This year again a miracle has happened, where despite a church being burned down where the pews, building and other sacred images (including ones of our Lord Jesus) where burned up.  An image of Our Lady of Guadalupe was unharmed despite having no protection from the flames.

A fire destroyed a church in Juárez early Wednesday morning, but spared a Virgin of Guadalupe image, despite the fierce blaze, Juárez officials said today.
The incident took place at about 4:04 a.m. on Wednesday, at San Agustín Chapel at Paseos del Alba and Paseos del Ángel Streets, Juárez Fire Department officials said.
"The fire tore down the whole church," said Cap. Martin Morales, of the Fire Department in Juárez, in a telephone interview.
But the fire spared a Virgin of Guadalupe image inside the church. The worshiped icon, 60 centimeters tall and one meter wide, was framed in wood.
The flames destroyed other images like St. Agustín and Jesus Christ, said Efrén Matamoros, Juárez Environmental Services and Civil Defense.
"We had no explanation of that," Matamoros said. "The image had no protection at all." The fire also destroyed 40 pews, frames and several icons. No one was hurt.[1]

You might ask why God decided to spare only the image of His Mother and not even his own holy portrait.  I believe there can be several answers.  That God wishes to once again show that devotion to the Our Lady will save us from eternal fire.  That she is always a refuge for sinners no matter how much the wrath of God has been enkindled against us and as a comfort to those servants of Our Lady of Guadalupe that her miraculous intercession in Mexico is not something made up in mens imaginations or exaggerated in legends but is real.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, Pray for Us!

See dried Blood Come Alive

I like reocurring miracles that have lasted for hundreds of years. He he who lives in Christ shall never die.
Give glory to the Lord, ye children of Israel, and praise him in the sight of the Gentiles:
Because he hath therefore scattered you among the Gentiles, who know not him, that you may declare his wonderful works, Tobias 13: 3-4

The Miracle of San Gennaro was repeated on Monday when the blood of Naples' patron saint liquefied at 9.30am....The miracle takes place on the anniversary of the martyrdom of San Gennaro (St. Januarius) in September 305 AD.The dried blood of the saint is preserved in two glass phials and traditionally liquefies three times a year, the Church says, thanks to the devotion and prayers of the faithful. For the faithful and superstitious, the ritual's success is a good omen for the city while its failure is a sign of impending disaster. In fact, disaster has struck on at least five occasions when the blood failed to liquefy, including in 1527 when tens of thousands of people died from the plague and in 1980 when 3,000 people were killed in an earthquake which devastated much of southern Italy.[1]
What the secular article fails to say is that if God is angry with the city of Naples he does not grant them a miracle and chastises them. It makes sense that when God is displeased that it acts as an omen of Gods judgement but it should be viewed if it is not granted as a call to conversion before he judges harshly. If the miracle does occur it she encourage the faithful to pursue the hard road that leads to everlasting life. It was interesting to note that in the article it mentioned the entire city was there. To witness a miracle and to not convert onto Christ increases Gods wrath because the miracle was a message of mercy to convert. Conversion is not limited to the accepting of the Catholic faith but a greater love of Jesus Christ and conformity with his will.

But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment, than for thee. Matthew 11:24
To learn more about this great miracle here is a clip to a semi professional video done on it on you tube. It includes seeing the relic before and after the miracle.

Faith is Greater than Gold or Silver

Bodies are burdened in athletic pursuits for Glory but it means much less than those infirmities which we must bear with patience in the spirit of Christ Crucified.

This woman was a national gymnast who competed for her Italy and her abominable cancer was inoperable. Yet, the Glory of God would come forth in hear greater than in trinket won in sports.

Sr Enrichetta’s beatification was set in motion by a miracle. In February 1994, 18-year-old gymnast Stefania Copelli was dying of abdominal cancer. As she laid in bed, her aunt, a Sister of Charity, sat with her praying and placed a holy picture of Sr Enrichetta on her niece’s abdomen. The young woman got better, the cancer left her body and she is now a mother of two.

It is worth noting why God would chose to bring about this cure with the use of an image as opposed to just prayer. God is unable to deceive, and he wishes to be very clear about the instruments that bring about his grace. It is a consolation to those following the example of this Blessed Sister that if they are faithful they will obtain Heaven as their mother and friend did and that we might go to her the heavenly court to be our advocate. If a doctor treats a wound with medicine and it does not work and then treats a wound with another medicine and it immediately works it does not take a great leap of faith to believe the second medicine was more effective.

It is not just that the saint was invoked, but that many people saw that her picture was used. So the many would believe in her intercession.

So it is with the Saints as well. The Apostle Peter in the Acts of the Apostles need only to cast his shadow on a person for them to be healed by God.

Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that when Peter came, his shadow at the least, might overshadow any of them, and they might be delivered from their infirmities. Acts 5:15

Anyone Who Fled to thy Protection

I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel. Genesis 3 15

The fires of hell cannot conquer a soul that puts their trust in the protection of the Mother of God.

Christ is Mercy, so she is the Mother of Mercy
Christ is Grace, so she is the Mother of Grace
Christ is our Savior, so she is the Mother of our Salvation.

As scripture teaches us exterior miracles are performed so that we will believe in the invisible operations of God.

"Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins are forgiven thee: or to say, Arise, and walk? But that you may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then said he to the man sick of palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go into thy house. And he arose, and went into his house. " Jesus the 2nd person of the Holy Trinity Matthew 9 5:7
Recently there has been a miracles involving statues of the Blessed Virgin Mary where massive out of control wildfires have stopped before reaching the statue and buildings that through the grace of God were protected. This is not the first time the Blessed Virgin Mary has saved a house of wood from being burned to the ground.

The Texas wildfire has been burning for days across Central Texas and has incinerated about 1,400 homes and tens of thousands of acres of land. It has burned every yard and everything on them in the Ranch Crest Subdivision of Montgomery County, Texas, CNN reported. “But miraculously all the homes here are still standing.”

The fire line came right up to a barely two-foot tall statue of the Virgin Mary placed on two stones and resting against a tree in the Garcia’s garden, and then stopped suddenly.[1]

Of course they had prayed before they left

“She protected our home, everybody’s homes. We prayed to it before we left to protect everybody’s homes,” he told CNN, pointing toward the statue outside his house.[1]

The Mother of God though has saved these homes from being consumed with physical fire. The divine message though was clear, that those who put their confidence in the Blessed Virgin Mary might find hope in being spared from the fires of Hell.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help or sought your intercession,
was left unaided.

Inspired with this confidence,
I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother;
to you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.

O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in your mercy hear and answer me.

Amen. (The Memorare by St Bernard of Clairvaux)

From Farm Boy to Sainthood

He hath put down the mighty from their seat, and hath exalted the humble. Luke 1:52

If Kapaun is beatified, it will take one more recorded “alleged miracle” — other than the four the diocese has already reported — to elevate the former Pilsen, Kan., farm boy to sainthood, Ambrosi said. He would become the third American-born saint.
Like many of the Saints that have been canonized a very loyal following has developed for him as being a powerful intercessor.

He also thought it “incredible” that Kapaun has such a vocal and devout following in Wichita. Several Catholic parishes and many parishioners pray for Kapaun’s intercession with God every week at Masses, and many people call upon his intercession in prayers when loved ones become ill.
Reading some of the comments below the article prove why God does not use miracles endlessly. Even when presented with phenomena beyond explanation at the invocation of a simple persons name they still do not believe and wind up despising the Church and its children.

Brain dead is not dead

It is truly a deceit of the devil to suggest that a person who is in a sleep is dead. It is habitual to men to look for the excuse for sin and it is truly the mark of the demon when we can justify it as if we are being merciful.

The Blessed Trinity though always gives us cause for hope. God shall always hear the prayers of his faithful when they call on him!

A woman who was diagnosed as being brain dead has recovered three days after her husband begged doctors to put in a breathing tube before switching off a ventilator at an Australian hospital, the Northern Territory News reported Wednesday.

When a doctor recommended that the ventilator be removed and Gloria Cruz be allowed to die, her husband told them, "I'm a Catholic -- I believe in miracles"

A doctor described her recovery as "a miracle."

Mrs Cruz is now alert and getting around in a wheelchair at the hospital. [1]

"And he heard my prayers, and brought me out of the pit of misery and the mire of dregs. And he set my feet upon a rock, and directed my steps" Psalm 40:2
